PROGRAM
DESCRIPTION
The Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT)
is a two-year transfer degree designed to introduce students to the
profession of teaching. This degree focuses on the Middle School Math/Science, Middle School Language Arts/Social Studies, and Preschool--4th grade emphasis and is developed as a generic plan to be accepted by 4-year institutions.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
High School (or GED Equivalency) Diploma
ATT DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
Prior to receiving this degree, students are required to have a final grade point average of 2.65, take the CAAP Exam, and pass the state mandated Praxis I Exam. Minimum passing scores on the paper-based test are: Reading 172, Writing-173, and Math-171. Minimum passing scores on the computer and paper based test are: Reading-172, Writing-173, and Math-171. Registration and fee payment for the Praxis I Exam will be the responsibility of the student. Any student not meeting the requirements for an AAT degree will not be accepted for transger into a Bachelor of Science in Education program at a 4-year college or university.
