ASSOCIATE
OF ARTS: GENERAL STUDIES UNIVERSITY TRANSFER PROGRAM
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Associate
of Arts Degree is awarded to individuals who successfully complete a program
of collegiate level work which is transferable toward a baccalaureate degree.
The state minimum general education core of 35 semester credit hours including
courses in English/writing, the humanities and fine arts, history and the social
sciences, mathematics, and the natural sciences are a part of this degree program.
AA Degree graduates of this program satisfy the transfer requirements of the
Articulation Agreement adopted on 6/28/94 by the Arkansas Higher Education Council
which is composed of all public universities, community colleges and technical
colleges.

OF ARTS DEGREE: FAST TRACK ACADEMIC TRANSFER HONORS PROGRAM
One Year (14 Months)
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
High School (or GED Equivalency) Diploma; ACT Score of 19 in Math, English,
and Reading; or ASSET Score of 43 in Intermediate Algebra, 42 in Language Usage,
and 41 in Reading; or COMPASS Score of 59% in Math, 75% in Language Usage, and
82% in Reading.

STATE MINIMUM CORE CURRICULUM
Program Description: The College's 35-Hour State Minimum
Core Curriculum was approved by the State Board of Higher Education for implementation
in the 1995 Spring Semester. Act 98 of 1989 (Arkansas Code 6-61-218) provides
that the SBHE "shall establish in consultation with the colleges and universities
a minimum core of courses which shall apply toward the general education core
curriculum requirements for baccalaureate degrees at state supported institutions
of higher education and which shall be fully transferable between state institutions."
