LPN/LPTN to RN Transition Program Accreditation Update
The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) will conduct a site Visit for Re- accreditation of the LPN/LPTN to RN Transition Program March 7-9, 2006. The SEARK College Board of Trustees approved initiation of the program in 1999. The Arkansas State Board of Nursing (ASBN) granted Initial Approval to the program on January 12, 2000 and Full Approval on February 1, 2001. The NLNAC conducted its first program site visit in March 2001. Following the March 2001 site visit, the Commission approved the program for Initial Accreditation, scheduled the next evaluation for Spring 2006, and requested an interim report in two years (2003). The interim report addressing the Systematic Plan for Program Evaluation and Assessment of Outcomes was submitted by the program and accepted by the Commission on July 16, 2003. In February 2002, the NLNAC commended the program for excellence in presenting “particularly well-written documentation in the accreditation review process.”
Questions or comments about the program and/or the accreditation process may be addressed to Diann Williams, Program Coordinator at dwilliams@sesark.edu.
