Steps to Completing the Registration Process

Step 1: What to bring with you when registering

  • Immunization Record. Proof of measles and rubella shot AFTER your first birthday is required of all full-time (12 semester hours or more) students born on or after January 1, 1957.

  • Official copy of your high school transcript or GED test scores.

  • ACT, SAT, ASSET, or COMPASS test scores. These scores are used for placement in English, Reading and Math according to guidelines. We only require that you take one of the four tests and provide us with the scores. The ASSET and COMPASS are given at the college, and these tests are equivalent to each other for our college, therefore it's your choice which test to take.

The ASSET test requires 3 hours of your time and is available for a fee of $6.00, payable at the business office. The ASSET test is given by appointment on specified dates. Please call the Counselor's office at 543-5926 to schedule an assessment date.

The COMPASS test is not timed and is available for a fee of $6.00, payable at the business office. It is given via computer in The Career Center located in College Hall North. Please call the Counselor's office at 543-5926 or The Career Center at 543-5914 for further information.

  • OFFICIAL COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPTS are to be mailed to Southeast Arkansas College directly from the sending college, or brought in a sealed envelope. Unofficial transcripts will be used for advisement purposes only.

Completion of basic skills courses in reading, writing, and mathematics with a grade of "C" or higher will exempt students from ACT, SAT, ASSET, and COMPASS testing for college admission.

You will need to turn all this information into Student Services located in Room 206 in Technology Center North.
